Strategic Preparation for CONVEX-3 (2025)
On June 11, 2025, the Controller and Evaluator Workshop dedicated to the international CONVEX-3 (2025) exercise was held in hybrid format at the CIPRIERN Center in Bucharest. The event represented a crucial step in preparing the national teams involved in the planning and conduct of this large-scale exercise.
The workshop brought together nationally designated controllers and evaluators in a collaborative setting designed to strengthen coherence, coordination, and understanding of their roles during the exercise. Active participation was enabled both in person and online, ensuring broad coverage and accessible engagement for all involved experts.
Throughout the day, participants received dedicated training on the responsibilities of controllers and evaluators, with presentations on the methodologies and tools to be used during the exercise. In addition, the Calian ResponseReady platform—on which the exercise will take place—was demonstrated, and a dry run of the scenario was conducted, offering participants the opportunity to observe the structure and flow of the exercise in real time.
The event directly contributed to enhancing preparedness and harmonization across teams, strengthening the national institutions’ response capabilities and cooperation.
The workshop marked a concrete step forward in reinforcing response capacity in the event of a nuclear emergency, highlighting the importance of training and collaboration at both national and international levels in the lead-up to CONVEX-3 (2025).
