Between March 31 and April 4, 2025, the Radiation Monitoring Workshop was held at the CIPRIERN Center in Bucharest, representing an important milestone in the preparation for the CONVEX-3 (2025) exercise, scheduled for June 2025. The event brought together national and international experts, representatives of national authorities and institutions, as well as partners from international organizations and participating states.

The primary objective of the workshop was to review and strengthen the national and international approach to radiation monitoring in emergency situations, with a focus on coordination, technical capacities, and data exchange mechanisms. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on monitoring strategies, communication protocols, and integration of monitoring results into decision-making processes during nuclear or radiological emergencies.

A key outcome of the workshop was the consolidation of a shared understanding of roles, responsibilities, and technical tools available for radiation monitoring during the exercise. The sessions also included practical examples, experience sharing, and expert presentations that contributed to refining national arrangements and aligning them with international standards.

The workshop further reinforced collaboration between institutions involved in nuclear emergency preparedness, supporting a comprehensive and integrated approach to radiation monitoring. This step contributes directly to ensuring an effective response capacity during CONVEX-3 (2025), strengthening both national readiness and international cooperation.
