As part of the preparations for the CONVEX-3 (2025) exercise, a consultative meeting took place at the IAEA headquarters in Vienna at the beginning of October 2024.

The meeting was attended by the CNCAN team responsible for organizing the exercise, along with representatives from CNE Cernavodă, IFIN-HH, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the IAEA team.

The purpose of the meeting was to outline the details of the CONVEX-3 (2025) exercise scenario, addressing key aspects for testing the response to nuclear emergencies. Participants discussed the exercise objectives, key injects necessary for simulating real-time responses, and international coordination, ensuring that the scenario is aligned with the best international practices. Additionally, injects for public communication were developed, and a detailed strategy was outlined to ensure a coordinated and effective response in case of an emergency.

Another important outcome of the meeting was the beginning of drafting injects under the key events in the “Master Event List” within the platform used for organizing the exercise, marking a significant step in preparing the technical details of the scenario.

As a result of the meeting, significant progress was made in developing the exercise scenario, and essential measures were established to align it with the best international practices.

This meeting was an important step in strengthening international collaboration and establishing a solid foundation for the success of the CONVEX-3 exercise in 2025.
