24-01-2024 has been a remarkable confluence of efforts and international collaboration here in Vienna, the final evaluation of the Valahia 2023 exercise, which has been instrumental in enhancing our emergency response strategies and, based on the insights gained we pivoted towards the organization of ConvEx-3 hosted by Romania in 2025.
ConvEx-3 represents a monumental effort in testing the resilience and readiness of international emergency response to severe nuclear or radiological events.
As we move forward, the fusion of experience from Valahia 2023 and the road to ConvEx-3 is a journey of continuous improvement and shared commitment to safety, preparedness, and effective response.
On this date, Mr. Petre MIN, together with Mr. Secretary of State Raed Arafat and representatives of IAEA and DSA, attended the first official “Kickoff meeting for preparation of ConvEx-3 (2025)” on the organization of the ConvEx-3 Exercise, planned to take place in 2025. This meeting started with an overview by the IEC Director, Mr. Carlos Torres Vidal, and continued with presentations by the other participants.
The main topic of this meeting was to discuss and agree on the agenda regarding the planning of the organizational meetings, as well as technical data regarding the exercise.
